Fundamental rights impact assessment (FRIA)
Examines possible effects of a deployment on fundamental rights.
What is Fundamental rights impact assessment (FRIA)?
Art. 27 of the AI Act provides for a fundamental rights impact assessment for specified deployers and uses. It considers affected people, possible harms and measures to protect their rights.
It is distinct from a data protection impact assessment but can reference relevant parts of a DPIA. Whether it is required, and under which conditions, must be assessed for the specific deployment.
