What is EU AI Act risk classes?

The familiar risk tiers help with orientation but are not four completely separate statutory classes. The AI Act distinguishes prohibited practices (Art. 5), high-risk systems (Art. 6 and Annexes I/III), and specific transparency obligations (Art. 50), among other matters. Transparency obligations can apply alongside other requirements.

Review intended purpose, specific conditions, exceptions and statutory role together. A quick check provides initial orientation; record open questions and justify the subsequent classification for the actual system.
